Open-Source Standards.

Investigators: Dr. Bradley/Prof. Hunter, Prof. Röhrle

The main focus of this project will centre on the development of OpenCMISS. In particular, there will be focus on the development of multi-scale and multi-physics algorithms that are required to solve and complex and challenging problem of soft tissue biomechanics associated with human movement. In order to solve the large computational problems focus will be given to the development and implementation of high performance computing techniques and on techniques for accelerating this computation with specialised hardware. A secondary area of focus will then be on the implementation of model reduction techniques so that the results from the anatomically complex and detailed models can be captured and described in an efficient way. Finally, the project will focus on the development of CellML and FieldML models and standards for sharing data in an open and standard manner – both within the IRTG and the wider scientific community.
